Olivia has been tutoring for over a decade and has had remarkable success with children going through the selective entrance exams at 7+, 8+, 10+, 11+ (both conditional and immediate), 12+ 13+ (both common and scholarship) and 6th Form entrance. Pupils have come from a variety of backgrounds and countries and have been successful in gaining entrance (on occasion with academic scholarships) to many prestigious schools: grammar, private and public.

Knowing what is expected of a child in any particular exam is important, as the exams and levels can vary widely. This has to be combined with a framework of study that is effective for that particular child, and is tailored to “fill in” gaps in knowledge, support any weakness, and extend in areas of strength. A combination of daily practice where weaknesses can be noted and addressed, combined with learning exercises to improve and acquire knowledge is essential.

Having a guide through the various schools and possibilities can be invaluable for parents and save a lot of time and effort, especially if the children are currently in a school which does not support the selective entrance school procedure, or who are unable to give one-to-one support to parents looking to move their child.

Roundwell Education was set up to provide an on-line, tailored learning program that can be accessed wherever and whenever suits the family. It combines Olivia’s expertise, knowledge and decade worth of learning material, with the current technologies of machine learning, natural language processing and data analysis such that children are able to benefit and receive immediate feedback from frequent interaction, whilst also gaining experience with timed tests on a computer.

We can combine on-line learning and practise with one-to-one tuition and group courses that can be targeted on problem areas and the effectiveness of which can be measured. We know that tutoring is a huge unregulated minefield and we want to provide a framework where parents can easily observe the positive outcomes of tutoring through the online system.

Roundwell Education also offers parents a unique opportunity to see how their child performs in comparison with their direct completion on the same tests at the same time in the process, which mimics the entrance admissions examinations. We want to make it easy to see where your child is, in attainment terms, compared to others in their year and others who have got into your school of choice in previous years. That way you can see if there is a lot of work to be done, or if you can relax a bit and enjoy the process.
